South Lake Tahoe...August

Trying to catch up on my blogging, just a few months behind!

Before August started there was the Sunday after the hash, aka the Hangover Hash. Quite a few hashers decided to hang around and wait out the traffic in front of our rv and eventually we made it down to the river to chill.

And then a few days later we were back again at the river with the dogs - Buddha spent several hours chasing sticks and gathering them on what came to be known as "Stick Island".

After many years we finally took the trolley from the campground to Tahoe City. Daniel, Jen, Maria, Brian, Bill and I barely survived "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride" as we had the craziest driver ripping around the 10 mph hairpin curves around Emerald Bay. At one point I literally slid off my seat around one of the curves and only didn't land on the floor because someone grabbed me!

Before we knew what kind of ride we were in for!

We got together for a fun evening at the weekly, free Kings Beach Summer Concert on the Beach with good friend's Virginia and Skip.

I miss my good friend, Virginia...

We had a couple of dinners with Daniel and Jen out on the meadow along the Truckee River, unfortunately the dining room table that they had left out there the month before had disappeared we our dining experience was a little less glamorous, but the weather changed anyway so we brought the party - with Steve and Julie, inside.

Steve and Bill have worked together at two different companies and have birthdays a day apart - so glad that we have kept in touch with him and Julie over the years.

Bill's pepper plants he had started from seeds in January in Cedar Key, Florida really started taking off this month.

We continued to enjoy beautiful vegies from our weekely CSA box - and always happy when our friend, and co-worker Billy, would stop by after work to share a brew or two. Bill made his fabulous grilled poblano peppers stuffed with purple, garlic mashed potatoes with a side of some yummy heirloom tomatoes.

And finally, the end of August we got together with Dr.K and Suzanne - hash friends from the East Bay for a weekend in Truckee - hiking, hot tubbing and just hanging out.
