I'm still working part-time, slowly reducing my client load so that I can eventually retire. I play pickleball, practice yoga, hike with our cute little rescue Fred and swim in the sea when the weather is as perfect as it is right now and I work on my EspaƱol every single day! Bill keeps himself very busy...home ownership provides that opportunity on the daily, but he also has become a fabulous farmer and his little garden keeps us in greens and tomatoes most of the year. Since he's been vaccinated he's back at the gym. but some problems with his heel/achilles has kept him from playing too much volleyball and pickleball.
We survived the Covid Quarantine quite well - we had a nice group that stayed all summer here at our park and we just stuck close to home. Being the introverted home-body that I am I can't say that I was affected too much - I volunteered with our new food closet and a few of us formed a group to help those with the virus navigate their quarantine, but most just handled it on their own.
As Mexican Residents over 60 we were able to get vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine and that really has made us feel better about being out and about a bit more. We've recently started meeting up weekly for sundowners at the beach and it's been nice reconnecting with people, odd, but nice!
I just finished my 8th tax season down here in Baja Sur, how crazy is that?! Before the Covid Shutdown...I think that should have an acronym! BCS, ha ha like Baja California Sur! Anyway, before that I had been traveling to Palm Desert to see my grandson every 3 months for the last 4 years, now it's been 15 months since I've seen Justice and will be another 3 until I see him again. All of that effort and who knows what our connection will be like now...oh well, lots of people have had way worse things come out of this whole Covid thing...I know I shouldn't complain. All will be as it should....
Bill wasn't able to have a grand celebration of his 70th last year...so we're doing it this year with a beach fiesta and we've been so blessed that several of his Air Force buddies are coming down to party with us.
I've uploaded a few pics of our casita, this year we added a regular staircase, lots of garden areas and a media sombra (aka pergola) on top of our roof shading our hot tub. We added a bodega (small garage) a couple of years ago and we're still over the moon, happy with our little piece of paradise here!
